UN sanctions against Libyan leader
Last Updated:
The UN Security Council has agreed on a package of sanctions against the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The sanctions include international travel bans and the freezing of assets belonging to Colonel Gaddafi, his family and close associates.
The unanimous vote also approved an arms embargo and referred the Libyan regime to the International Criminal Court over its deadly crackdown on protesters.
The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says the international community has spoken with one voice.
