Burma's military government has increased security on the streets of the main city Rangoon ahead of the expected release of the pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi

The peace nobel peace prize winner's house arrest term is due to expire today and officials have indicated that she'll be set free.

Crowds have gathered outside her home in anticipation of her release.

Australia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Kevin Rudd has welcomed the news saying Burma's Junta needs to do the right thing.
