Obama calls for speedy compensation claim for oil victims
Last Updated:
US President Barack Obama is demanding the speedy processing of compensation claims for those affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
He made the call during a visit to the Florida coast for a brief family holiday to show support for those hit by the damage.
President Obama says the waters are now safe.
"I will not be satisfied until the environment has been restored, no matter how long it takes. I also want to point out that as a result of the cleanup effort, beaches all along the Gulf Coast are clean, they are safe and they are open for business," President Obama says.
