Quake shakes south Australia
Last Updated:
Authorities say an earthquake which has rocked parts of South Australia this morning, could measure as high as five on the richter scale.
Residents from Port Lincoln on Eyre Peninsula to Kadina on Yorke Peninsula say the earth moved and their houses shook at about twenty past seven this morning.
"The couch went back and forwards very quickly and then a few photos behind me fell off the wall. It's a very eery feeling wondering what is happening."
"It started off soft and got louder and louder as it came towards us. It's hard to describe the sound, it was it was like probably like ten cement rollers going past."
The Department of Primary Industries and Resources says it believes the tremor is between four and a half and five on the richter scale, higher than April's quake in the Adelaide Hills which recorded three-point-eight.
There has been no reports of damage so far
